On July 11, 2009 The Iowa Bass Federation Nation hosted the youth state championships on pool 10 (Prairie) for 26 youth. We had 22 boats participating and a host of volunteers. Congratulations to 11 to 14 age group winner Micah McKinstry from Walford, Iowa who caught 8.4 lbs. In the 15 to 18 age group Cole Herb from Cedar Rapids won with a weight of 11.1 lbs. In all we had 12 youth who had a five fish limit which is outstanding. Both winners are invited to attend and compete at the Bass Federation Nation Northern Division Championship in August at Escanaba, Mich. where their tournament weight will be added to the team score for their final weigh in. A very big thank you to all of the Volunteers and parents who made this tournament possible.
